The asphaltite mineral is a natural bituminous substance, solid and non-volatile of high molecular weight, composed mainly of hydrocarbons substantially free of oxygenated bodies and crystallizable paraffins. It is a mineral product, light, brittle, with few impurities and high caloric power, resinous aspect and cone fracture in fresh forms, endowed with a high melting point.
